Yellow Goose Pottery

Psychedelic Goose — handmade ceramic teapot with goose spout by Phil Russell, Yellow Goose Pottery, West Yorkshire

Handmade ceramics from a cellar studio in Magdale, Honley, near Holmfirth in West Yorkshire. Each piece is thrown or hand-built by Phil Russell — decorative art pots with a narrative streak, and functional domestic ware in glazes drawn from the local landscape. Commissions welcome. And if you are interested in some music to accompany your pottery, check out Mudslingers, a loosely pottery-themed acoustic trio.

Decorative pottery

Each piece is unique, thrown or hand-built, then intricately decorated with underglaze through a process that’s part plan, part conversation with the pot. The images tend towards the playful, suggest a story but hopefully leave room for you to finish it.

Domestic ware

Mugs, cups, bowls, plates, vases and planters — in glazes drawn from the skies, hills and moorland of West Yorkshire.
